Soak prunes in boiling water for 10-15 minutes. Rinse well and cut.
Cut the meat into small pieces.
Finely chop the onion and fry in vegetable oil.
Add meat. Fry for 5-7 minutes.
Add prunes to the skillet. Fry for another 10 minutes.
Add 1/2 cup water and simmer, covered. Season with nutmeg, salt and pepper.
Finished meat should be soft and soaked in prune flavor. Prepare mashed potatoes for a side dish.
