Boiled mackerel - a simple and quick recipe

Mackerel is an inexpensive, affordable fish with a minimum of bones and a delicious taste. You can cook many dishes from it. Mackerel is salted, pickled, fried, baked and used in salads. We offer a simple and quick recipe for an excellent snack - boiled mackerel, which is not only simple and quick to prepare, but also has an excellent taste.

For the recipe, choose a large carcass with intact skin and light silver color. The composition of the spice can be varied. The marinade for fish is very simple - it is 3% apple or wine vinegar, which can be replaced with fresh lemon juice.

Boiled Mackerel Recipe

Put dry spices, garlic, salt and sugar in a cooking pot.

Scald the lemon, cut into half rings and put in a saucepan.

Pour in a couple of tablespoons of apple cider vinegar.

Defrost the mackerel at room temperature. Cut off fins and tail, remove entrails. Using a paper napkin, remove the black film inside the abdomen and cut into 1, 5 cm wide pieces.

Put the fish in a saucepan, cover with cold water. Bring the contents of a saucepan to a boil, reduce heat to low and cook for 5-8 minutes, covered. Turn off the fire, put the mackerel in the brine until it cools.

Transfer the fish to a serving plate, garnish with fresh lemon, herbs and cucumber slices.

Additionally, when serving, the fish can be sprinkled with smoked paprika, and served with a side dish of rice, potatoes or just with onions.
