Stewed cabbage with meat in the oven

We offer an incredibly simple and delicious recipe for stewed cabbage with beef. Such a dish is not only cooked in a pan, but also baked in the oven. Stew with cabbage and vegetables is an excellent quick lunch for the whole family and your guests.

It is recommended to marinate the meat before cooking, then it will turn out soft and tender. In the meantime, while the meat is marinated, you should prepare the vegetables and other ingredients, and then fry the marinated meat, add vegetables to it, put everything in the oven and soon you will be able to savor an excellent baked lunch of cabbage and meat!

How to stew cabbage with meat

First of all, measure out all the spices you need and collect them in one plate. Mix and set aside for a while.

Cut the meat into small pieces - 2, 5-3 cm or long slices. Transfer the chopped pieces of meat to a deep bowl, add the seasoning mixture and mix everything thoroughly.

Cut the white cabbage into strips, not very finely.

Pass the peeled and washed carrots through a coarse grater.

Transfer a small portion of the cabbage to a pot and then sprinkle with some of the carrots. Repeat to layer the chopped vegetables. The pot should be 3/4 full.

Pour olive oil into a large skillet. Preheat a skillet over high heat. Transfer the meat, boneless in seasonings, to a hot frying pan with bubbling oil, fry so that the surface quickly "grasps", turns brown and becomes covered with a light crust. Cook the meat for a few minutes, stirring constantly. Reduce heat to low and let the beef cook for a few more minutes. Remember to stir it occasionally.

Make a depression in the center of the chopped vegetables and transfer the toasted meat there. Pour the sauce made from tomato sauce, tomato paste and heavy cream.

Place the pot in a preheated oven (temperature - 180 degrees). Cook for one hour. Then reduce the temperature to 150 degrees and simmer for at least 3 hours.

Remove the pot of cabbage from the oven and stir the contents gently.

This casserole made from cabbage and meat can be served immediately or, if you need to wait for the guests, put it in the turned off oven and cover with a lid - for several hours the dish will retain its warmth.

Serve the stew mixed with cabbage, add fresh tomato salad and toasted bread crumbs to it.

And remember, you don't need to add a drop of water. In the process, the vegetables themselves will secrete it in excess and feed the meat. Stew the cabbage in your juice, it will be much tastier. Follow the recipe strictly and you can easily stew cabbage with meat in the oven.

Stewed cabbage with meat

Heat the sunflower oil in a frying pan, first fry the meat for a short time, then add chopped vegetables to it and simmer over low heat. In the middle of the process, pour the sautéing along with the tomato paste, do not forget to salt and sprinkle with black allspice, stir and continue cooking over low heat.

Together with vegetables, you can put forest mushrooms, replace canned pasta with fresh ripe tomatoes, add a lot of greens and spicy herbs.
