Harvesting vegetables is a sure way to preserve food for the winter for long-term storage. We present the easiest recipe for pickled tomatoes with onions. Canned tomatoes are a great tasting snack that goes well with many main courses. And if you don't know how to cook tomatoes and onions for the winter, then it doesn't matter. Surprisingly, everything is as simple as you could imagine.
The set of products for harvesting tomatoes is standard. And the process is not to say that it is difficult, but on the contrary, it couldn't be easier. The main thing here is sterilization of vegetables and dishes, which is very important for long-term storage.
Prepare all the ingredients you need to make pickled tomatoes with onions.
Rinse vegetables thoroughly and let the moisture drain. Divide the tomatoes into two equal parts, and cut the onions into not very thick rings.
In sterilized glass containers, place the washed cherry, horseradish and laurel leaves along the bottom, as well as dill sprigs and add the peas of allspice.
Place one half of the rings from the onion head on top of the spices.
Next, place and fill the jar with the cut red tomatoes so they don't pop out.
Place the remaining second part of one onion head on top.
In a separate bowl, prepare the marinade for preparation in the following way:
for about 2 liters of water, add 2 tbsp. tablespoons of salt, 1 tbsp. a spoonful of granulated sugar, bring to a boil and make sure that the salt and sugar crystals are dissolved.
pour 1 tbsp. a spoonful of vegetable oil, remove from the stove, pour in vinegar and stir.
Pour the hot marinade over the tomato and onion jars.
Transfer the jars to a pot of water and boil for 10 minutes to sterilize completely.
Roll up the vegetable blanks with lids, make sure they are tight, and place them upside down in the corner of the room. Without letting the jars cool, wrap them in a warm blanket and leave in this position for 10-12 hours, for self-sterilization.
