Wash and dry the leg of lamb well. Remove streaks and films, they can cause bitterness during cooking.
Combine spices and butter in a separate bowl. Peel the garlic and cut into slices.
Make small cuts in the meat all over the leg and stuff with garlic. Spread well with spices and let stand for 30-40 minutes.
Preheat the oven to 200-220 degrees C and cook the leg for 10-15 minutes, then lower the temperature to 180 degrees C and cook for another 70-90 minutes, periodically pouring melted fat on the leg. Check readiness by puncturing in the thickest part, if the released juice is pinkish-transparent, then the meat is ready. Put the finished leg on a dish and decorate with sliced vegetables and herbs.
Bon appetit and Happy New Year!
