Cherry compote for the winter

What could be better than a jar of real sweet cherry compote for the winter.

Cooking time 30 minutes


Cherry 1 kg

Water 1 l

Sugar 300 g


Berries and sort through and remove the tails.

Rinse well and discard on a sieve.

Wash the jars well and rinse with boiling water.

Add berries to half the jar.

Pour boiling water over.

Cover with lids and leave for 20 minutes.

Drain water into a saucepan and add sugar.

Boil the syrup.

Pour syrup into jars of berries and cork. Put in a warm place for 12 hours.

Cherry compote is ready for the winter. Store the cooled compote in the cellar.
