Mineral water cakes

Delicious, airy, fragrant cakes with mineral water will be an excellent substitute for purchased bread.

Cooking time 40 minutes


Dry yeast 10 g

Wheat flour of the highest grade 400 g

Warm water 50 ml

Mineral water 200 ml

Vegetable oil 2 tbsp. l.

Butter 50 g

Zira 1 tsp

Sugar 1 tbsp. l.

Salt 1/2 tsp


Mix yeast with sugar and dilute with warm water. Let stand for 20 minutes.

Pour mineral water into a bowl, add yeast, vegetable oil, salt and half the flour. Let stand for another 1 hour in a warm place.

Add the second part of the flour.

Knead the dough and divide it into 2-3 pieces.

Roll out each one a little and put on a baking sheet.

Puncture with a fork and brush with melted butter.

Sprinkle with cumin.

Bake in an oven preheated to 200 degrees C for 20-25 minutes.

Cool and serve.

Pressed or dried garlic, dried onions, sesame seeds, or other spices can be used instead of cumin.
