Want to really surprise your guests? Make them pea pies in the oven. You have never tasted such delicious and original pies yet!
Cooking time 1 hour 30 minutes
Rinse and transfer to a saucepan, pour 500 milliliters of water.
Cook over low heat, stirring occasionally, for 25-30 minutes without a lid. The water should boil away and the peas should become soft, but whole.
Pour 300 ml of milk into a large bowl, add 2 tablespoons of sugar, 10 grams of dry yeast and 1/2 teaspoon of salt.
Leave on for 20 minutes.
Leave the dough to rise for 1 hour.
Add finely chopped onion and 1 grated carrot. Fry for 2-3 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Put boiled peas, fried vegetables in a bowl. Add 1/2 teaspoon salt and black pepper to taste.
Stir the filling.
Divide the dough into parts.
Roll out each part with a rolling pin.
Add 1 tablespoon of the pea filling.
Shape into a pie, pinch the edges on top, leaving a hole in the middle.
Put the pies on a baking sheet covered with parchment.
Brush with beaten egg.
Bake in an oven preheated to 180 degrees C for 15-20 minutes.
Chop dill and 3-4 cloves of garlic into a bowl.
Remove the pies from the oven.
Grease the hot pies well with the garlic-dill mixture, pouring into the filling.
The pea pies are ready in the oven. Put the pies on a platter and serve.
